Isabelle Pateer translates the identity and soul of her subjects into visual documents with historic and artistic value. Because of this expertise Antwerp Zoo, one of the oldest zoos in Europe (1843) commissioned Isabelle to document the soon to be thoroughly renovated Jubilee Complex. This building, dating from 1969 hosts a wide range of former animal shelters and a sea lion water basin. The resulting photo series offers a valuable document of this heritage and its wide and rich variety of visual references towards the vision on architecture, animal welfare and 'make believe' visitor experience from that period.
